Divisional Soccer is played in the U12 to U18 age groups. All U12 divisional teams play eight-a-side games on half fields. All U13 to U18 divisional teams play eleven-a-side games on full fields. Games are played in accordance with FIFA laws of the game, including the use of yellow and red cards to denote the severity of fouls committed by players or coaches. The referee issues yellow cards as a cautionary measure. A red card results in ejection of the delinquent player or coach who must then attend a disciplinary hearing. U13-U18 teams are organized into playing levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The U12 age group has Gold and Bronze level play only.
Players at the U12 to U18 level are eligible to try out for one of our select teams. For more information on Tryouts please see the "Tryout Information" page on our website. The schedule is tentative, as field availability could require us to change the dates, but we will not schedule tryouts over spring break.
Be sure to have your user name and password ready!
***NOTE: you will not be able to pay for the Select team fee until you have made
your registration payment. Once you have registered, your Age Group Coordinator will then assign you to a Select team (this may take several days after payment of your registration), at that point Select fees can be paid.
U-13 through U-18 teams play 11-a-side soccer on full fields in the Five District League comprising teams from the North Shore, Burnaby, Vancouver, Richmond, Ladner, North Delta, Tsawwassen, White Rock, Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Chilliwack, Langley, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, New Westminster and Mission. All teams including Silver B teams are expected to travel off the North Shore for league and cup play.
Please advise players and parents that they are expected to travel for Five District Divisional play.
All teams playing in the Five District League are automatically entered in Inter-district cup play. Single knockout rules apply to Cup play.
Gold and Silver teams are also involved in Provincial Cup play. U-12 and U-13 gold and silver teams play for Provincial A and B Cups respectively. Gold and silver teams at the U-14 level and beyond play for the Provincial B Cup (Metro teams play A Cup games). Schedule and standing: Click Here
NSGSC teams at all
levels are encouraged to enter tournaments. The Club will pay the entry fee for
the NSGSC Thanksgiving tournament. Teams participating in tournaments
outside the Club will be responsible for those tournament fees.
Tournament Travel forms are available on the BC Soccer Web site, they must be signed by Ab Bryant NSYSA Registrar.
The North Shore Girls Club holds its Annual International Soccer Tournament on the Thanksgiving weekend in October. Over 120 girl's teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Washington State, and other jurisdictions participate each year.
