If you are a coach wanting to coach one of the clubs select teams (i.e. Metro, Gold or Silver teams) that players tryout for you will be required to go through the following process: complete the online coaching application; be evaluated running a practice and possibly a game; be interviewed by a panel from the club. Additionally your level of coaching certification and your coach evaluation provided by your players and parents will be taken into consideration. Completing the application: (online coaching application form) Prior to completing the online form you should prepare your answers ahead of time. You can get an outline of the application form by clicking on this link “select coach application form” When you are ready click on the “Online Coaches Application form” and complete the form. Note that the online coach applicaton form has certain field restrictions due to space limitations; you may need to supply additional information which you can send by either: Via email to: administrator@nsgsc.ca or mail to: NSGSC Attn: Coach Selection Committee One of the additional pieces of information you will need to provide is your season training plan along with any other information that the space has limited you. Specific Tips for completing the online coaches application form 1) Highest level achieved is your Soccer coaching certification and should be one of the following. CCC, CCY, CCS, B-Prep, B-Provincial, B-National 2) Coaching background with the North Shore Girls Soccer Club (NSGSC). This should start with the most recent year and work back to the first year coaching. (start with the present and go backwards) If you run out of space click the box advising you will be providing additional information. 3) Coaching background with other clubs or sport teams. This should start with the most recent year and work back to the first year coaching. (start with the present and go backwards). Evaluation of coach running a practice: Once your application has been accepted you will be notified of a time that you will be evaluated running a practice. Normally this practice is one of your sessions scheduled with the development centre. In preparing for your evaluation you should prepare a session plan. You can find a session plan form in the documents section of the web site. To gain a better understanding of what you will be evaluated on please refer to the practice coach evaluation form in the documents section of the web site. The evaluation will be performed by a senior coach usually from the North Shore Development Centre.
Interview by a panel from the club: An interview will be scheduled with a panel normally consisting of an independent coach and/or a development centre coach, and a couple of board members or committee members. To get an appreciation for the questions asked during the interview process please refer to the document select coaches interview questions in the document section of the web site. |

All coaches in the North Shore Girls Soccer Club are trained volunteers. The North Shore Soccer Training Center provides several coaching classes each year, and more are added as needed. If you are interested in coaching, please contact the age group coordinator for your age group, volunteers are always appreciated.
