Director of Coaching/ Technical Director, Full-Time - APPLICATION CLOSED

Are you passionate about empowering and coaching youth?  Are you a leader, a coach, a manager?

We are looking for a permanent, full-time experienced to be our Director of Coaching/Technical Director and support the development of all NSGSC soccer programs - on and off the field.  At NSGSC we believe FUN is critical to keeping our youth in the game.  As one of the oldest and only girls-first Clubs in Canada, we strive to empower, inspire and develop our players, coaches and volunteers everyday.  If YOU are passionate about these things, you could be a good fit for NSGSC.

With over 2000 youth players, plus Women, Adult-Indoor, and other specialty programs, NSGSC operates 7-days a week, almost all year round.  We provide support for training and development to help advance your career in sport.

To make this vision a reality, the Club is looking for a new technical leader to lead its entire technical effort, from the establishment of a high-level technical plan to the leadership and development of the Club’s +200 strong coaching team. A passionate proponent of the role sport plays in female childhood and youth development, you believe in the technical leadership of large soccer systems through the development of its coaches. You have tacit knowledge of and direct experience working with the soccer development of girls of all ages and understand what drives their lives, particularly as they transition from childhood to adulthood. You passionately believe in the philosophical principles of Long Term Player Development and are familiar with all of Canada Soccer’s NCCP coaching qualifications.

You have experience working with an amateur sports Board of Directors and know how to liaise with non-technical audiences, particularly the parents of your soccer players. And most importantly, you are driven by the value sport brings to our communities, not only in the great athletes you can produce but in the simple joy on a young girl’s face at kicking the ball for the first time.

Are you are a dynamic, ambitious technical leader who says ‘why not?’ when told ‘that’s not possible.

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference with a large soccer program that can heavily impact women’s soccer in British Columbia and Canada if developed to its potential?

Then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. To be successful in this full-time leadership role, you will need:

  • Minimum CSA-NCCP National B Licence, with CSA-NCCP National Child License and BC Soccer Technical
    Directors Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching in youth soccer systems in North America with a player base of at least 1,000.
  • An ability to design and implement a modern-day technical plan, including a clear player development pathway, full training curriculum, and coach development strategy.
  • Experience in the development of amateur soccer coaches, from entry-level volunteers to more advanced, professional coaches.
  • Experience working with and reporting to a not-for-profit soccer club Board of Directors, with a demonstrated understanding of its core role.
  • Experience in the management of cost-to-budget in soccer program design and execution.

Please Note: You must live (or be willing to relocate on your own) and be legally allowed to work in Canada to apply.
